Lost Coyotes Motorcycle
Club CONSTITUTION
January 2000
Article 1
This club shall be known as the Lost
Coyotes Motorcycle Club.
Article 2
(Membership)
Active members shall be participants
in American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) District 37 desert races
or persons actively supporting the racers in these events and shall
satisfy the membership requirements of the by-laws. Honorary members
shall be any other persons as the club may decide by a two-thirds
vote of those present at any regular meeting as to honor. Only active
members shall be entitled to a vote in club affairs. Members who
have been active in the club for 15 years may become life members.
These members do not pay dues, vote, or hold office but have all
other club privileges.
Article 3
(Officers of the Executive
Board)
The officers of the club shall be President,
Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Referee, and these officers
shall constitute the Executive Committee. The offices of the Vice
President and Secretary may be filled concurrently by one person
if agreed to by majority of the club members at a club meeting.
Article 4
(President)
The duties of the President shall be
to:
- preside at all meetings of the club.
- have a general supervision on the
affairs of the club.
- appoint any person or committee not
otherwise ordered by the club.
- personally represent the club on
proper occasions and business contracts.
- assist all other officers of the
club in their records. correspondence and other duties.
- promote interest on the part of each
member in the club life activities.
- vote only when one vote is necessary
to break a tie.
Article 5
(Vice President)
The duties of the Vice President shall
be to perform the duties of the President in his absence.
Article 6
(Secretary)
The duties of the Secretary shall be
to:
- keep a record of the meetings of
the club.
- send out notices of regular or special
meeting.
- handle all club correspondence.
- perform such other duties as generally
fall to that office.
Article 7
(Treasurer)
The duties of the Treasurer shall be
to:
- collect dues from all members.
- collect all other money due the club.
- make all payments from club funds
when so ordered by the club.
- keep an account of all club money
matters.
- make a statement of the club funds
when called upon by the club.
Article 8
(Referee)
The duties of the Referee shall be to
have general supervision over all sanctioned competition events
promoted by the club and to maintain order at the club meetings.
Responsibilities of the Referee at competition events are defined
in the AMA and District 37 rule books. The referee should have a
thorough knowledge of the District 37 desert racing rules.
Article 9
(Executive Board)
The duties of the Executive Board shall
be to:
- act for the club in all matters ordered
by the club.
- make final decisions upon member
expulsions.
- properly investigate and present
to the club all business or important activity situations.
- have general control over all club
affairs.
Article 10
(Elections)
All elective offices shall be filled
at the annual election to be held on the first November meeting
of each year and all officers shall hold this office for one year
or until their successors are elected and qualified.
Article 11
(Meeting Place)
The regular meetings of the club shall
be held in the Antelope Valley. Special meetings may be held elsewhere
if approved by majority vote at a prior meeting.
Article 12
(Meeting Minimum Attendance)
One third of the active members in good
standing shall constitute a quorum for transaction of club business.
Article 13
(Amendments)
This constitution may be amended or
added to, providing the proposed amendment is substituted in writing
at a regular meeting. It shall then be advertised and voted on at
the next meeting. A two-thirds vote of all active members in good
standing shall be required to pass an amendment.

By-Laws

1. Meetings
Meetings will be held on the second
and fourth Wednesday of each month at 730 P.M.
Robert Rules of Order shall govern the
parliamentary proceedings of this club unless otherwise provided
in these bylaws. The order of business shall be:
- Call to Order
- Roll Call
- Introduction of Guests
- Reading of Minutes of Previous Meeting
- Correspondence
- Treasurer's Report
- Committee Report
- Old Business
- New Business
- Announcements
- Fun Business (Talk about past and
future races)
- Adjourn (Requires motion, second
and oral vote)
2. Members
The number of members of this club shall
be limited to forty-five.(45) Family members(such as father and
son)living in the same home will be considered as one for the purpose
of filling this quota only.
Candidates for membership in the Lost
Coyotes shall fulfill the requirements set forth I the
"Bylaws supplement on application for
membership."
3. Dues
Dues for the Lost Coyotes M.C. shall
become due and payable thirty dollars annually,
payable at the first club meeting in
March of each year.
Dues shall be considered delinquent
when three months overdue. The member will be dropped from active
status at that time. The member may become active within six months
of delinquency by paying the dues.
The member shall be dropped as a member
of the club after six months of delinquent dues(and must satisfy
the requirements for a new member to rejoin).
A member may become inactive for an
indefinite period of time by declaring himself inactive at a club
meeting. To become active again, he pays his dues prorated up to
the next March.
4. Points System
Club points shall be earned as follows:
3 - points per dual sport event
attended per day (if wearing Lost Coyotes official colors) 3
- points per AMA District 37 off road event or desert race raced
(if wearing Lost Coyotes official colors)
3 - points per AMA District 37 off
road event or desert race served as a pit captain (if
wearing Lost Coyotes official colors)
3- points per AMA National served
in pits.
2 - points per AMA District 37 off
road event or desert race served in the pit crew (if
wearing Lost Coyotes official colors)
1 - point per AMA District 37 off
road event or desert race attended with the club (if
wearing Lost Coyotes official colors)
2 - points per off-road rights meeting
1 - point per club meeting
1 - point per desert cleanup
3 - points for attending a District
37 meeting and representing the Lost Coyotes. $12.00 for mileage
Other point paying events, and the number
of points they pay, may be designated by majority vote at a meeting
prior to the event.
The active member with the most points
at the end of the year will be awarded a prize.
5. Club
Colors
The club colors shall be day-glow pink
and day-glow green.
6. Amendments
The by-laws of the Lost Coyotes M.C.
may be amended and repealed by a majority vote of the members present
at a meeting.

By-Laws Supplement
January 2000
To join the Lost Coyotes Motorcycle
Club, you must:
1. Obtain an Application
for Membership and fill it out completely
2. At a meeting, submit the
application and make your intentions to join known.
3. Pay $20.00 Initiation
Fee.
You will then be on probation until
you earn at least 15 points (see By-Laws par. 4, "points System".)
These 15 points must be earned within 6 months. You will be responsible
for notifying the club when you have earned 15 points (you may get
your current points tally from the secretary at any meeting.) You
will not have a vote in club affairs during the production period.
If at any time during this period you are found to be undesirable,
you will be dismissed from the club. At least 4 points should be
from club meetings.
You must read the Club Constitution
and By-Laws by the next meeting after you submit your application.
At the end of your probationary period,
you will become an active member provided:
1. At a regular club meeting,
no more than 2 active members vote against you entering the
club.
2. You have joined the AMA.
3. You have purchased a club
jersey.
You have paid dues prorated from
the meeting you were voted in, up to the next March.
If, at the end of 6 months, you have
not yet earned at least 15 points and you wish to stay in the club,
you must rejoin (pay $20.00) and your probationary period starts
anew.

Pit Captain and Rider
Responsibility During Pitted Events
January 2000
Pit Captain
Pre Race. Make sure all riders
have checked in with you and given you their name, number and
pit equipment gas can, goggles, tools, special drinks, etc.)
Make a list of all riders.
During Race. Assign jobs
such as removing gas cap, pouring gas, wiping goggles, giving
water, checking over bike, etc. Check off riders from your list
as they come through the pit.
After Race. Check off riders
as they finish or otherwise come in from the course Send people
out to pick up downed riders (wait a bit to see if they come
in and check with Rescue 3 for a map of the course). Never go
out yourself, unless you leave someone in camp with all the
info.
Riders
Pre Race. Give the pit captain
your name, number, and pit equipment(gas can, goggles, tools,
special drinks, etc.) Make sure your pit equipment is marked
with your name and number.
During Race. If you're stopped
on the course but plan to move give a thumbs up sign to fellow
club riders. If you break down or are hurt and cannot ride,
give a thumbs down sign to a fellow club rider. If a rider gives
you a thumbs down , stop if you can. If not ,make a mental note
of his location and tell the pit captain.
After Race. When you finish
the race, always notify the pit captain so he is aware you are
in.
